Hey.I went into my O2 store today and they said that since the 1st of Dcember it was no longer 30% off line rental but rather £75 towards line rental.

Anyone know if this is true or did i simply not ask correctly as i didnt mention anything about being a channel partner.

Orange kicked up a fuss that o2 let people eligable for the discount and Orange couldn't. o2 have changed it to so instead of the 30% discount, you know get a £75 credit.
Staff accounts will not be able to do this, they won't be able to upgrade you unless you work for o2.
The open code discount only applies in store.

Hi,
Just so you know, you can get discount. You don't need a code from anyone. Just go into an O2 store with your payslip. Don't let the sales advisor be confused with the Open card scheme they do with lots of other employers. DSG are a channel partner and they have to select that option on their system. You simply have give a few details and your employee number. If the store insist you need a code get them to ring staff accounts, they know the score!
My other top tip is take the phone number for staff accounts and ensure the discount has been applied after a few days.
Cheers

Is this the same for the Police?
I've been told Police employees get a similar discount.

That's not right.
As far as I know, it was only with the iPhone, but I'm not 100% sure about that anyway.
Rather than getting the 30% discount, you will be credited with £75 credit.
Better than nothing.

Hi,

I work for one of the DSGi chains. After discovering this post and doing alittle bit of my own investigation, this is the most up to date info i received as of 02/01/2010.

To summerise
Open Code scheme applies to certain stores which require them to obtain the code from their head offices. Stores include John Lewis, MacD, Barclays and a few more.
(Don't know the entire list)

From the 1st of December 2009, Open Code holders will only receive £75 cashback on contract tariffs and nothing else.

If you work for one of the retail chains owned by DSGi (PC world, Currys or Dixons online) then Open Code scheme doesn't apply. DSGi is a Channel Partner with 02. (Not sure how many other companies are also 02 Channel partners)

All Channel Partner employees receive 30% off contract tariff prices INCLUDING iPhone tariffs, BUT won't receive any discount off the cost of the handset price. So if the handset isn't free on selected tariffs (3Gs iphones for example), then you will still have to pay for the cost of the handset.

(Edited: 13/01/2010)

***To apply for a staff tariff you will need your recent payslip. The employee number is the Channel Partner Number they require as well as your store's location number, store's name, name of the manager, when you were employeed by the company, your proof of ID and Address and of course a valid Visa/Debit card.***

Once you have all this go to any 02 store with those details and sign up to the tariff of your choice. If you experience any difficulty with the staff then politely insist that they call their staff account team infront of you and make sure they feed the info across to them about working for DSGi and being a channel partner etc. You will find that their staff account team will back you up on this.
