i made my last payment over the phone.apparently that failed and they sent my case to a debt collecting agency and there is nothing they can do anymore.
its not my fault their system failed to take payment.that agency is asking for some fees so i have to pay even more.
all i want is to pay my last bill to o2 and close the case for good.
is there any solution to this problem?

Setting up a direct debit would avoid future issues.

the reason i closed my account early is that i switched to another network.i had a direct debit but i closed it just before that.
one customer service guy told me to wait -i waited nothing happened.another one told me its not possible to pay my last bill over the phone.i finally managed to pay over the phone.i checked my bank account and there was a pending transaction for that amount.
everything looked fine
untill i got the letter telling me that im in debt.
i still want to pay but not to some collector agency.why is it so hard for them to take my money?

You can reach the Payment Management team on 0800 902 0217.
The opening times are:
Monday to Friday – 8am to 8pm
Saturday – 8am to 6pm
Sunday – 9am to 6pm
However, I think you'll have to pay the debt collection agency directly now as they have bought your debt from O2.

Unfortunately, right or wrong, the debt agency will trash your credit.
If you have proof that you paid and O2 failed to collect, then I suggest legal action with compensation.
Far too much of this with O2

Unless you pay them they will send people round to your house to remove items to the value of your debt.
They will have a court order allowing them to do this so it will be much more painful than paying them now.

It won't change anything now as your case has gone too far, but you can register a complaint using Resolver so that the issues are visible to all.
