you should put the post code of the area where you live to see what reception is like in general. towns normally good where i live but remote countryside areas can be poor.

o2 2g coverage about the best in the uk and 3g is lacking outside of towns and cities as the coverage checker will confirm.
I live in a rural area and 2g o2 is the best out of all the networks 3g non existent on all but 3 in my area

Hey, I think i may have found my problem, MY PHONE. i am using the new XPERIA X10i, but today i have put my sim into my old nokia N95, and i havnt had a glitch in the network all day! so i have returned my phone to the O2 shop, and they are sending it away for repair, (for free), i'll just have to wait now, they have said it could take upto 14 days! the outcome of the repair will be posted here,
Thank you for your time and replay

Still O2 is giving poor patchy reception in South Wales Generally, and Herefordshire generally, I started with Celnet in about 1996 and have followed them onto o2. I have had an I phone 3gs on contract for about 16 months.
My point is I would have thought a major network provider like 02 would have got a lot better reception over the years but they have not, If I visit Kiev for example, I can go all over the city (not the metro) with full signal strength. what is o2 doing with my contract money? are they investing it back into the network? - clearly not... time for a change me thinks Vodafone is looking very attractive, all I speak to have good reception let my feet do the talking!

I find 2g great, 3g def not great outside of cities as others have said. To the above poster, you are comparing large and largely rural parts of the country to one major city though. You could compare London to Kiev and be fine.
