Open discussion about the community.

Leading on from a thread that was derailed after a member stated there views on the state of the community I am creating this open discussion.

I am also taking the view that was expressed in the thread from post 24 onwards http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Welcome-News/O2-Community-Rewards-April-2014/m-p/661441#M8644 that @Bambino made.

The discussion lead to hints that many long standing members of this community had left for the reasons as stated in the thread linked. I will not duplicate now as the comments are still there.

As this is a customer to customer community I feel it is time that the wishes of the community are acted upon.

This morning I clicked on unread posts and nearly all were in off topic with a few Questions about o2 that were buried amongst all the facebook like talk.

I am as stated before (on previous occasions) and after much concideration thinking of also withdrawing my support for this community as it is not the place it was. After this thread has been replied to I will make my decision on if I stay or go and will post an open letter explaining the reasons I can no longer support the community if I chose to leave.

I'm sure @Toby and @Anonymous are watching this thread and will put something into place.

Unfortunately not everyone can be catered for. 😞

having read this thread from beginning to now

I'd put my hand up

& say 'its me'

& I have a gut feeling, which usually serves me well that:-

Bambino left in some way because of me

What a great, great loss to O2CF Bambino is 

& you've got me, 'a newbie' 'mis-using' the system 

50 shades of brown gets dropped on me from time to time 

I'm still here in life as open-minded as ever & 

can take constructive criticism any day of the week

I've kudos posts in this thread

Do not in any way hold your self accountable for anyone's actions and decisions.

Bambino is an adult and made an adult decision to move Networks and no longer post here (I hope he returns from time to time).

You are doing NOTHING WRONG.

The Off Topic Boards are for Exactly What your doing with your posts.

They are in no way infringing any forum rules.

As @Cleoriff has said on a few occasions not everyone is as technically minded as others or indeed as interested in the technical side as others ,and that's fine.

The forum would indeed be a sterile place if the only threads / posts that happen was technical & assistance based.

I believe off topic posts bring depth and warmth to the forum and long may they be possible.

You have been on this forum since January....This discussion about off topic has been rumbling on for a very very long time. You have never been part of said rumblings!

You, in my opinion, bring a breath of fresh air to this forum. Yes you post in Off Topic, but you have asked FAR more technical questions than I ever did when I first joined.

Remember... you have asked about your kindle, your computer and what phones to buy.

All questions that our experts on here have gladly helped you with. You also take constructive advice

and if necessary, criticism

I think I need to apologise as I presume the comment about medical history was directed at me as I posted recently.  Perhaps @Toby could delete the threads?

As you are all aware I have very little technical knowledge (although I'm trying to learn!) and, even if I see a question I can answer, someone has usually beaten me to it hence me reading the technical posts to gain knowledge and generally hanging around in off topic.

I'm sorry if I've upset anyone on the forum, it's never been my intention as you've all been such a big help to me.

I could be out of order jumping in before Toby @Anonymous ...but I didn't think there was anything wrong with either of your posts..

Hospital is a lonely place to be, and I am sure I speak for others when I say , this is the time we want to support members...

On a personal note, I loved it because it gave me the chance to show MY expertise..which is nursing..
