Call queues are busy in the days before/after a launch.

Rubbish. I had to call them the day the iPhone 4 was released as the microsim they gave me didn't work and they picked up within a few minutes. Wasn't so happy I had to go back to the shop to get it swapped out but the guy in store did walk the new one to where I managed to stop the car (as the o2 shop was on a pedestrian walkway).

Judging by your username it would appear you have some underlying issues with O2, so I can understand your questioning of what I say.

Our retentions / upgrade departments are always swamped with calls at this time, customer services are busier than usual but still able to handle calls quite quickly.

I'm on hold and have just hit the 30 minute mark and I'm not aware of any new Iphones having launched recently!
