O2 webmail still featured on myO2 - why?

O2 stopped doing webmail several years ago, so why on myO2 does it still have a big button at the bottom of the page which says:

 

O2 Webmail

Access your O2 email account

Go to My O2

some accouints were still active and it is only finaly shutting down very soon so it may go then .

I believe you are correct @adamtemp64, and I think anyone who is still using it (although I can't imagine why) has until June at the latest before the servers are completely shut down, but I could be mistaken on the date. If anyone does still have any vital mail that needs saving, and can still access their account, get your mails moved NOW!!!!!

It is still there for those customers who migrated their BB to Sky as their accounts are still active until June of this year.

That is unbelievably ridiculous @jonsie. This is a tech company, yet their own website is woefully inadequate (customer payments) and out of date as evidenced by that link.

There is nothing more frustrating for customers than out of date or dead links.
It's surely just very basic website management to keep these things up to date?

But surely MyO2 is personal to that customer therefore if that customer does not have access to O2 Webmail then it should not be shown as an option.........or is that too simplistic for O2 and it's website sub-contractor.

@Beenherebefore I think over the years we all know the answer so many school boy errors and lack of ownership by relevant departments ( ensuring content is correct) etc

I have never used O2 webmail so that isnt showing in My O2. However it's closing for good in June, so hopefully customers who have it showing now may well find it disappears after that date? (we can only hope)
