Sounds interesting. Not too sure I'll get an invite though!
I use Skype on a daily basis so will be watching this for more information.

In a mad moment last year, I bought from Sipgate, a UTStar GF210 GSM mobile/V.O.I.P. phone. Although I have got it working OK at home on my network, seeing this topic, I wondered if I could use it on O2's public WiFi network. But looking at O2's first time log in instructions, I don't think that I could even manage to log my phone onto their network.... Even if I did, I don't think that my Sipgate account details would be safe on O2's unencrypted WiFI. But even if O2 did not charge for V.O.I.P. calls on it's own V.O.I.P. service, it would be possible, I would have thought, for somebody to use your V.O.I.P. account to make abusive to others without your knowledge............

Too early to say much, but it would have to be secure.

I'm sure all this will be covered in the trials, they have some very clever people working on telecommunications. They would make sure its secure before testing.
