I read with interest that O2 are promising 98% 4G coverage. How about doing a better job on 3G? Virtually all other mobile networks are available in Criccieth, North Wales, but NOT O2.
Guess I'll be voting with my feet when my present contract finishes. 😞

You should be on another network then, it's always best to test out sims before taking out a contract.

That level of coverage will be for 2G, 3G and 4G.
If you don't want to wait for that it's usually best to go with a company that does work in your area.

And that 4g 98% is not a promise it is a condition of the part of the spectrum they bought. So if o2 do not do it thay can be fined. Only o2 are bound by this service obligation.
O2 have been enabling as part of there major network upgrade that started jan 2011 3g and more recently 3g900.
I also live in a 3g not spot but with a mast that is visiable on 2g 900 that gives 5 bars when o2 upgrade this mast I expect a strong 3g 900 signal and when 4g comes should also get a good signal.

This has always been the case. I have spoken to O2 reps several times, to be told O2 have no plans to implement 3G. The towns either side of us, and one all the way at the end of the Lleyn Peninsula all have 3G, but not us. 2G is excellent in the building and outside, so I don't think it's a coverage issue, just a reluctance to spend any money.
