I believe this to be the case @viridis Sadly not the first time we have heard this about travel in Cyprus.
Not being facetious here but any type of travel abroad does need a bit of research on the roaming charges in that area...:smileysad:

You may well get some form of goodwill gesture but they are highly unlikely to better meeting you halfway. I wish you luck, no one likes an unexpected bill so near Christmas.

Good news, hope these charges are refunded asap. Be prepared to have to caall again though.
