O2 Sim only unlimited data

I've had this deal since five or so years ago and the store and even the customer service say I'm able to have unlimited data. However in my handset when I go near 4gb or use that much data outside it slows down!!!! Meaning it's not unlimited!!! How can I resolve this shall I call o2??? It should be still unlimited!

You are being throttled after 4GB which sounds like you are hitting a fair usage policy or something...so still as much data as you want but slower after 4GB

I don't agree with this at all, as to me unliited means NO limits, limiting the speed is a limit!

Unlimited data is subject to a fair usage policy as outlined in the terms and conditions. Whilst there is no figure stated, O2 will slow your connection if they deem your usage as having a detrimental effect on other users.

What we need to do here is ask one or two of the regulars on here who also have legacy tariffs giving unlimited data.

I've never experienced throttling but that kind of usage is alien to me. I have only hit 3GB on two occasions when using the phone to tether my laptop because of router problems. No slow down or warnings but my normal monthly usage is around 1GB or just over.

Data Charges
For applicable tariffs with data capability: Unless a data or BlackBerry Bolt On is taken, your tariff will include O2 Web Daily under which data (for UK only use) will be charged at up to a maximum of £1 per day (00:00am to 23:59pm). Once you have reached your maximum daily charge of £1, O2 Web Daily allows you unlimited use of Telefónica O2 UK Limited's Edge/GPRS/ 3G networks (as applicable to your handset), for personal internet use via your mobile phone. All usage must be for your private, personal and non-commercial purposes. You may not use your SIM Card:
in, or connected to, any other device including modems;
to allow the continuous streaming of any audio / video content, P2P or file sharing; or
in such a way that adversely impacts the service to other O2 customers. If O2 reasonably suspects you are not acting in accordance with this policy O2 reserves the right to impose further charges, impose network protection controls which may reduce your speed of transmission or disconnect your SIM or tariff at any time, having attempted to contact you first.

I've never used more than. 1Gb in a month so I've never been restricted.

If I did use that much, and I was slowed down or restricted I would be taking it much further as in my opinion, unlimited means just that and O2 cannot rewrite the language.

It's not just O2, everyone is at it.

O2 have been told this cannot carry on by the regulators and Be have lost a case against a broadband customer over this.
