Please confirm they'll be up and running asap.

No one knows @Anonymous Certainly not on here as this is a customer to customer forum. Twitter is very busy with many people who have the same issue as you

Have similar problems to you all, was chatting with SKY and O2 simultaneously this morning, O2's comments were unbelievable,

"

XXX: at 7:48:14

When attempting to access the O2 server you get the message " Task 'xxx.xxxx@o2.co.uk - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'"

XXXl: at 7:48:48

This would appear to be your system administrators

Amrita: at 7:49:26

XXX, as the Internet service provider is Sky, so I'll request you to contact them.

XXX: at 7:51:47

But the email servers are O2's

Amrita: at 7:53:58

XXX, the O2 webmail service has been permanently stopped by O2 on November 2013.

Amrita: at 7:55:18

So we do not have access to the webmail service any longer.

Amrita: at 7:55:51

That can be the reason you're not able to access the account.

XXX: at 7:59:12

I am afraid that is incorrect your webmail service was working at 12:05 yesterday. You still have the following on your website The statement on the o2 web site is as follows "We've shut down our O2 webmail service unless you're a Home Broadband customer moving over to Sky. Home Broadband customers moving to Sky can continue to access their ttp://o2.co.uk mail account. "

Amrita: at 8:01:29

XXX, I agree to your point however the services are closed from O2 from the year 2013, November.

XXX: at 8:01:55

Was this facility shut down yesterday without telling anyone

Amrita: at 8:02:54

I'm sorry if you feel this, however as I've informed that the webmail service has been closed down on the the year 2013 November."

So how we have managed to access our email is a matter of conjecture. Come on O2 man up as complaints will be flying.

I think that given the major problems yesterday with the website, the accounts, the shop pages that email was probably the last of their concerns. The rest were back up after 6-7 hours so maybe they can concentrate on the webmail now. I do urge people though to set up another email provider as O2 is antiquated and problems are getting more and more frequent as systems aren't maintained.

I agree with @jonsie about finding a new email provider. It is quite concerning that this is the only service that isnt back up and running...

@Anonymous

What live chat told you about O2 email closing was partly true. Customers were informed in September 2013 that O2 webmail was closing...unless you migrated to Sky.

Those customers have been using O2 email ok...up to now... but now this has happened I am not sure what the outcome will be

I am amazed that we are all kept in the dark and O2 have not posted any information regarding when their issue will be resolved. WHATS GOING ON O2.

I have been having the exact same problem, word for word. Only difference is I get some agents at O2 telling me that O2 is experiencing a problem and other agent who tell me that the problem is with me and not with O2. Last conversation I had said that a fault would be filed and it could take up to 5 days before I heard anything back! This whole thing is one bloody joke.
