My husband and I, both 02 customers have been experiencing serious problems during the past 3 weeks or so with no signal, emergency calls only and we are unable to text from home, occasionally we can call but then the signal drops and we are disconnected. We have spoken on many occasions eventually about a week or so ago 02 admitted there was a problem locally, however we have since contacted them for an update and are informed there is no problem in this area. Very conflicting advice and extremely frustrating - just read a comment about the mast that was on the hospital building that is going to be demolished so wonder if the problem will ever be resolved.

Great isn't it, everyone wants a mobile phone as long as the mast goes in the next town!

Just a follow up really. A very polite man from o2 Networks just called me and explained that they were informed last minute that the mast needed to be removed because of the demolition. He said that there are no current plans to replace the mast as they don't have any planning permission which can take 6-12 months. He mentioned that they might be able to get a temporary mast up but again had no timescale for this. Luckily, I took out another mobile contract with a different provider a week ago which works fine. I can give my notice in less than 2 weeks so I turns out I did the right thing. I have to give him 10/10 for honesty rather than someone just saying that they are aware of it and working on it etc etc. I was slightly worried that I might have rushed into another contract but it turns out I did the right thing.

That's a good result and the fairest thing to do.

I see that o2 coverage checker still shows the whole area as full, good indoor coverage

I doubt that the maps will be updated all that frequently.

Well that's a bit unfair to anyone in the area thinking of taking out an 02 contract. It's been over a month now. I imagine they are quick to update the coverage maps when they install a mast in a low coverage area.

I doubt it, but take it up with O2 if you're not happy about it, we can't comment on why many things don't happen immediately.

I already have my new phone contract with another network and I'm leaving o2 in a month. I do still feel sorry for the people who aren't at the end of their contract like I am.

Why are you worrying about the O2 maps then?
Good luck with your new provider.

I've just said. Because it's misleading to anyone in the area thinking of starting a new contract with 02. It it wrong and should be changed.
