Thanks for posting the settings... I managed to get my HTC G1 up and running with internet but am still struggling with MMS. Read somewhere else that if the settings don't work, then O2 must have a bar on your SIM. However, after ringing O2 several times, it seems that MMS has been enabled on my phone - but yet... still not working!

Has anyone else had this problem?

Hello,
Sorry for bumping the thread.

I was purchased a HTC Hero in brown for christmas, from Car Phone Warehouse, sim free bla bla.

So, I took my simcard from my n95 and put it in my new hero, and it basically doesn't like the mobile web, I called O2 and he told me it's a contract phone and I shouldn't have it unless i"m on contract :womanindifferent: ... wanting me to pay more money? so I've googled and tried all of these settings, but I can't seem to get it to work? When I click browser on my phone it says "Connection failed" This application requires network access. Enable movile network or WiFi to download data... even though when i press settings it has a tick next to mobile network and under settings I have "mobile web" with the green dot next to it, I guess meaning that it is selected.

Could anyone please help? I am disappointed as I am a very organised person and would like to be connected all the time! Thanks ever so much guys.

Not working here still. I've got the settings from the first page on my Hero but still fails to download messages. Is there any way to check if MMS is enabled on your SIM or not without calling?

Hi all,

This is within topic of the OP I was just wondering if I was alone.

Have HTC Hero, which is great, but can't send/receive MMS. I'm in a HSDPA enabled location and it's shown on my status bar but I get NO MMS. Unless I connect to a local WiFi hotspot (be it work/home/pub or open network).

When I try and download an image/video etc I get the usual 'Download Unsuccessful' etc note, but as soon as I connect WiFi they appear or they do after I prompt download.

Any thoughts/help would be gratefully recieved.

Cheers in advance,

Dickster

Hi,

I have bought a HTC hero handset which is locked to the 3 network. I am looking to unlock the handset so I can use it on the o2 network. I have been told that although you can change the internet settings for browsing I won't be able to download apps which are supported by 3.

I was wondering if anyone who is currently using the Hero handset knows whether most the apps are built by the manufacturer? has anyone who has unlocked to o2 seen any limitations of doing so?

Much appreciated thanks.
