A quick question here. Anyone know the best mobile network for Cancun in Mexico? I know I could google it but wondering if anyone has been so knows for definite. My grandson flew there today...and promised everyone he would text/call to say he had landed safely.... Landed about 2 hours ago...and nothing as yet....

Telcel or Movistar.
I used to go years ago and mobile networks were rubbish, but I don't know if they have improved recently or not.

Oh yes, theres no 3g available either so he'll have to find wifi or pay extortionate roaming charges!

He will be gutted. He told me this morning that his mum had sorted this and there was WiFi everywhere!!

He says he 'thinks' the hotel has wifi.....oh dear. (He took his tablet and his phone.....)He is going to find it a bit of a change from coming to Spain with me then?.....:smileysad:

I would hope it's better now - I'm going back 10 years or so, but I still don't believe o2-uk customers can roam on 3g over there.

Good to hear that there is a roaming agreement there as I wasn't sure there was in that part of the world

Problem is...he is on EE... I wasn't bothered about posting that when I asked the question about networks in Mexico though..... Thing is I know him...if he promises he will text when he lands...he will do just that. Always has. So...as he landed 3 hrs ago and no text ...something is wrong somewhere...and no it isn't me panicking...
