I have just spoken to 02 and they ar still trying to sort out the problems.  Something to do with an upgrade that has gone wrong.

Like others I am waiting fo important emails to come through and cannot believe that they didn't warn us this was happening so we could make alternate arrangements

Systems failed. I'm sure it was unexpected as were all the other problems. Hence no warning.

Thank goodness someone managed to get through to an appropriate person to ask about this problem. I am an o2 user who was made to go over to Sky, and am still smarting about it. I have happily used my original email address, and been pleased to do so. Not feeling so pleased today however, as am also waiting for important communications. The server went down last night so o2 are taking their time!

With the amount of complaints both here and twitter and other medium (https://downdetector.co.uk/problems/o2) then O2 need to sort this out or make some form of official statement either on the website or the status page.

After having no emails for two days I called o2.  The operator told me they have closed down the email site, and yuo can no longer receive emails!  I asked why I hadnt been given notice so that I could update all my accounts with a new email address?  The rubbish reply from o2, as its a free service we dont have to be given any notification!!!!!!!

People are reporting that emails are now coming through so keep trying.

...but do yourself a big favour and change email provider.

They shut the email site down. They told me as it was free they dont have to give notice, and basically go set up an account elsewhere. Maybe we should all move mobile providers as well!"!!!!

Email was free. However they closed it 1st November 2013 except for broadband customers who were migrated to Sky. Ample notice was given of this.

email sent 1st September 2013 :
