Today I just ordered a new iphone 6 64gb via phone, and with a valid NHS open code I can recieve a 30% discount off of the airtime monthly payment. The lady I spoke to on the phone said that this is correct and when I recieve the new handset I have 90 days to claim that discount. However she then went on to saying that at the moment, that discount can't be made until o2 has a 'free flowing stock' of iphones, meaning only when they have enough iphone 6's for next day delivery and they are not on back order anymore can they apply the NHS discount. To me it doesn't really have any relevance to my contract whatsoever. Therefore it doesn't really make any sense. I went on to order the phone anyway and o2 have since sent me a 'o2open' message giving me a valid NHS discount code telling me to go in to my nearest o2 store and get them to apply the discount on their computers. I have also heard this is what they do from similar threads on here on the same topic. Also my sister who works for the NHS who allowed me to have one of these codes ordered the same phone as me on the same tariff a week ago and the lady she spoke to didnt say this at all and automatically sent my sister the NHS code in a text. Is the lady I spoke to giving me the correct information or should I simply do what o2 are telling me to and go to an o2 store to have them apply the discount?
Any advice would be appreciated. Phil.
