How the heck do I get my phone number to show up on my SIM?
If I do the About Phone - Status bit the My Number bit just says unknown.
I have an app that needs to SIM to know what my number is.
How do I get it on the SIM?

You can put your sim (with an adapter) in an older phone such as a Nokia/Sony which will allow you to write the number to the simcard.
If you pop into an O2 store (quiet time preferable) and I'm sure they can help you with the range of phones they have.

Which phone are you using ?
Your O2 mobile number will already be on the SIM card and I assume your making outbound calls and taking inbounds calls fine.

It's a Galaxy S4.
I had a new SIM with the phone to support 4G but kept my number.
When I launch the app it says my phone is programmed with an empty number!

http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk
This moves your number and tariff from one SIM card to another and takes around 24 hrs to settle but is typically quicker.
This procedure is undertaken if a person has a faulty SIM card, moving from one sized sim to another or is upgrading to a 4g compliant sim.
Once carried out the old SIM card is de activated.

I believe so.
The phone itself works fine.
Just that no number shows in the my number field.

Contacts - More Options - Special numbers - My Numbers, and edit or add your number from there or something similar.
Or You can try this first Contacts - Menu - More Settings - Own Numbers
Or
I have read forums on how to do this, there was a solution You can try this Contacts - Menu - More Settings - Own numbers

I have had a look and cannot see any option to add the number to the phone.
I have the number in as a contact but that does not associate it with the SIM it seems.
The FAQ for the app says others that have had the problem got their provider to do this - Send MSISDN to SIM. Not sure if that is just america though. 😞
