When you browse from an O2 mobile, we add the user's mobile number to this technical information, but only with certain trusted partners.

Not much chance of that with O2, although I think it's standard through all the networks. O2 will no doubt quote T&Cs to cover it.
There's absolutely nothing in my contract saying they'll pass my mobile number to trusted partners. Unless I'm completely blind.

There's absolutely nothing in my contract saying they'll pass my mobile number to trusted partners. Unless I'm completely blind.
Clause 21.3 seems to clearly state they can provide your contact information, communication history, service costs, and your mobile location to "associated companies, partners, or agents" on top of the usual credit and law enforcement agencies, and that they can do so "for the purposes of operating your account and providing you with the Service", which is a pretty wide remit and does include the reasons O2 would be passing on your number, such as operator billing, automatic account login, the £1 pay-to-opt-out-of-the-porn-filter, etc.
So, unless your contract is different to the standard one on their website, its plain as day they can basically do what they want with your info with their selected partners.

source http://blog.o2.co.uk/home/2012/01/o2-mo ... wsing.html the updated q&a now live
Q: I want to leave O2 with immediate effect because you have breached T&Cs / shared my data without my consent. Can I?
A. In this instance, and as acknowledged by the Information Commissioner, there has been no immediate breach of the Data Protection Act. This was a technical error that has now been rectified. In light of this, customers’ contracts remain valid and O2 shall continue to provide you a service in accordance with your terms and conditions.

Without being too specific, I work in this area, and the other operators have come out saying they don't do this, but I know that on at least 1 occasion this has happened to another operator, i.e. the msisdn sent to EVERY website visited not just trusted ones. Have found the email in question and I can tell you it wasn't Orange or Voda.
