Hello,
I'm getting a lot of missed calls from mobile numbers and when I ring back the cut off straight away, the weird thing is that the numbers are 07734 953 xxx, 07734 953 xxx, 07734 953 xxx which look very close together. Does anyone know if these numbers are used as part of a scam?

Looking at it like that yes I can see where this would b somewhat a problem for mobile numbers but the majority of ppi and accident ones etc are made from landlines in my experience so that shouldn't be an issue and as regards to someone reading the texts yes well if they want to help their customers to the best of their ability they would have to read them maybe they could get the people from live chat to read them then they wouldn't have to employ any more staff

If we all report using the ICO pages then more people will be fined.
O2 are doing things to make it harder to send multiple sms spam by putting the limit on payg sms
7726 is just for spam sms but the ico will deal with sms and calls and faxes.
Just follow the advice here http://www.ico.gov.uk/complaints/marketing.aspx

no
Just report each one to the ico and the people behind the numbers will be fined and hopefully realise that the fines make it no longer viable

Sign up with your mobile and landline numbers here:
http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/index.html
Any UK companies can then be prosecuted for calling you, it takes about a month to be active.

For instant relief, you can use a Call Blocker app to stop them getting through. I use Comodo Mobile, although I get texts about missed calls which I have blocked. Which is kind of a pain.
