Micro sim for iphone 4

Hi,
im new to the forum but have been an existing pay monthly o2 customer for around 6/7 years now.
I recentley upgraded from iphone 3gs to samsung galaxy s2 but im thinking of selling it on for a iphone 4.
My question is: can i pop into an o2/apple store for a pay monthly micro sim for an iphone 4,and have my number transferred onto the micro sim with my existing 18 month contract deal? Or will i need a o2 iphone 4 tariff seeing as id be swapping from samsung to iphone?
Sorry for essay but would like this as clear as poss!

go to o2 shop get a microsim use the swapmysim form in my links then change the iphone apn to pay monthly non iphone tariff again in my links.
you will not get visual voicemail call merge on a non iphone tariff but everything else will work

Where do i find this "my links" on here? As that sounds like an easier option to do! So i just pop into a o2 shop get pay monthly micro sim and once i fill that form online and everything will automatically change? how much does a micro sim card cost?

Ok thanks for that, for various years i have been ugrading online via o2, this year i went to my local ph4u store and upgraded. will this affect me in anyway to get a pay monthly micro sim from o2 direct?

No, you are still better off going to O2 for the sim as retailers charge for them.

Ok thanks, was considering cutting the sim but think ill do it the proper way if i was to get iphone4

There is no real point in cutting one when they are freely available. And while cutting the sim can work you have to be very exact.

could i upgrade to the iphone bolt on tariff for £6 a month? after 30 days from the date i upgraded with my new tariff?
