I would expect a Loyalty Bonus / Discount to be a REDUCTION in my bill but looking at a recent monthly bill I find it is an EXTRA CHARGE. Not even sure what it is for. Is this just a scam?

As we are all customers here like you I'd suggest speaking to O2 Cs for official clarification regarding your account.

Have you recently upgraded? If so your first monthly bill may be higher as your bill date will be reset and you may be paying part for a few days then your month on advance.
As bandofbrothers has suggested a call to CS should confirm

That is a very interesting question @MI5. I assume O2 want us to be loyal customers - they are more likely to achieve that goal if they provide good quality products and services at prices we are able and willing to pay. If we are prepared to pay (and presumably most of us do some sort of cost comparison before committing ourselves to O2 or any other provider) then we really should not be expecting a further reduction to reflect our loyalty.
This is not any reflection on or criticism of the OP - its is just my overview of the loyalty issue.

as we know o2 operate a fair deal policy where both new and existing customers get the same deals.
however if someone is thinking of leaving o2 after they have found a better deal elsewhere then its fair to expect o2 to match or better it if they can.
