My contract has come to an end after 24 months and paying off my Phone Plan Credit Agreement
As a consequence my basic tariff that was subject to a discount titled 'Loyalty Discount' has suffered with an increase of £5 (including VAT) by the loss of this 'Loyalty Discount'
I am not in the need for a new phone as yet but in order to get my basic tariff back to 'almost' that what it was I have to change to a Sim only deal that is not as good as the one I had (less minutes - Texts limited to 500 and less mobile Internet data!
Why just because you have paid off your Phone Plan do you lose the tariff you have paid for the last 24 months? Each time my so called contract ends I find I have to fight to reclaim my 'Loyalty Discount' - one time by going through the ombudsman!
Only by speaking to a senior manager, in the past, have I managed to retain my 'Loyalty Discount' and even then only after going through the complaints procedure!
'Loyal' O2 customer since 'Cellnet' days and before!
Rant over 🙂

I've been with O2 for years and years. I can never remember getting a loyalty discount. I got a good deal on my S3...purely because there was a sale on. The sim only tariff I am on now had been reduced for the month of January which was when I took it out. Now that reminds me....January 23rd is when I need to get another one...:smileywink:

I have a loyalty discount but these discounts are only for the length of the contract. The only way to get another is to speak to retentions but be prepared to look for deals elsewhere. That was how I got a discount and an extra GB data.
