I will be leaving 02 when my contract is up in August.
Not just because of them taking an age to release software updates.
I have been with 02 since 2008 just lately I am getting no signal more and more.

Hi,
Its a shame you feel compelled to leave 02.
I'm assuming you've already checked out other alternative networks and their coverage where you reside, live and travel.
One of the reasons why I buy my phones sim free is in regards to software updates. I refuse to be governed by a networks filtering service as they add , chop and change software updates to what they want.
I'm lucky to receive really strong coverage where I am but i must admit networks such as GiffGaff have caught my eye with their unlimited data packages.
Even though you are considering leaving 02 remember your 02 forum account will remain live so we hope you'll continue to visit and participate.

Giffgaff runs on the O2 network
Yeah Stuart I omitted to highlight that fact so thank you.
I already have a giffgaff nano sim and intend to top it up and buy the £12 goodybag and test out the internet for a month, so see if it wobbles or not.
My daughter uses Giffgaff and says she is happy with the network apart from the occasional internet connection drop.

And is this repeated in other phones with your sim card and vice versa? You could always request a new sim card and see if it re-occurs in the same phone.
Is this a 3G signal or 2G and what are the effects of swapping to 2G only? Actually, what phone is it and how old is the phone?
Have you logged a fault with o2 about the local transmitter?

I do the same. I always buy from Carphone Warehouse, as they are straight from the manufacturer. Network locked devices always come with a shed load of stuff added, which do nothing but slow them down and eat up battery power.
