Did you mean:

Leave O2 - Only way to make them take notice.

Like many large companies: Client Service is a term with no meaning. The total lack of any clear information about this outage is disgraceful. "We are sorry for any inconvenience" - that mean they don't give a toss!

Thank you Braincraze - I know one can retrieve voicemail messages from a landline (I even do it over Skype phone when I'm in a wifi zone abroad ...) but the issue during the O2 technical failure is that anyone calling my number would just hear "there is a fault - there is a fault ....", rather than being diverted to my voicemail. And given the system was down, there is no display of any missed calls. So basically I cannot know who tried to call me during the almost 18 hours during which my phone was incommunicado. Not the end of the world, I know, but as mentioned in earlier messages, what annoys me immensely is that there was no contingency plans, whereas technical failures are inevitable over time. It seems O2 have a good record in terms of reliability, but one day they will experience another glitch, and that day they had better be prepared. Demonstrating one can put things right again and alleviate the inconvenience for customers when a problem occurs is the greatest demonstration of competence which can build enormous trust in the customers' minds.

Ahhh, I see what you mean. Yes, the pesky "Fault" message was a bit of a pain. But I assume that if the numbers were not registering then the Voicemail feature would have been useless nonetheless.

I think after what has happened recently O2 can learn from it and hopefully the process will be much smoother next time. slight_smile

everything has faults, but this is the 3rd major failure i've experienced in cornwall in just over a year, so i'm tempted to change networks aswell as this is beyond a joke, one failure is one thing but it happens with 02 time and again. not being able to get through to customer services aswell was also a joke. i went into the phone shop yesterday and asked if they has any non 02 sims and the guy said "i wonder why" and just laughed.
