Is palm pre avalible in shops on 16th or is it online only?

Palm pre release tomorrow. looking at the palm pre section on the o2 site.. Where it says "How do i get one" it says The Palm Pre will be available on 16th October online.

so can i not go to an o2 shop tomorrow and buy 1?

Just had a go with one and would have to say compared to my solid iPhone it did feel plastic and cheap!

I had a go with a iPhone and this today. I 100% prefer the iphone.

1. On this the slider is just to weak and such

2. The OS is just complicated. I am good at tech but the os it uses is a bit too clunky

3. Keyboard way too small even for me

4. Touch screen hardly responses.

I was really looking forward to the pre and switching from orange to 02 but it's such a cheap looking phone. I'd be concerned that it would break before the contract was up. The girls in my local store said that they had very little interest and had sold just one since it was released on friday. They said, quite a few people had come in to play with the Pre but once they got their hands on the device itself were unimpressed with the naffness.

I know there was a lot of hype that it would outset the iphone, seems like pure fantasy.

I have read many comments on the Hardware, to which I cannot comment on myself as I am yet to see it in the flesh ( will try today though) but I will post once I have.
If anything it can't be as bad as what people are suggesting.

It's a lovely phone - until you open it and you are confronted with a cheap naff keyboard and (very oddly) sharp edges that cut into your hands.

Can't say that I'm won over by the phone. I had a play with the SE Satio in carphone warehouse and I have to say, I think it is a real thing of beauty - and rock solid too. Can't wait for it to hit O2.
