Is O2 the worst mobile phone provider in the world? I think yes!

I just thought I'd publicise my experience of O2 today. I have wasted 5 hours of my day trying to complete a simple task. That is trying to get a PAC code from O2 so I can use the number on a new phone from another network. Apart from the fact that it is a complete impossibility to get through using 202 number I resorted to the chat facility on line. I did manage to get through to someoneand got a PAC number. When I tried to use this with my new provider they said it was incorrect and that there was a problem with the number O2 had given me and that I should get back to O2. After another hour of trying (i didn't bother trying to call as I knew it would be impossible to get through) I eventually manged to get someone online again. We again went through the process and generated another PAC number, again it was wrong! with much denial on both sides my new provider eventually managed to assertain that the number for the PAC code I was given was different from the one I was trying to use! Did I give the wrong number? I went back through the transcripts on both conversations and I have given the correct number on both occasions. I had accessed through my log in and so that number would have been correct also. But at some point a transciption error had crept in despite me confirming with the correct number on 2 occasions. This resulted in wasting 5 hours of my time. Needless to say I am very dissapointed with the standard of service I have recieved. Poor serivce equals poor performance and ultimately I worry for the long term survival on O2 as trading business if this is considered to be an acceptable level of service.

Hi arm and Welcome to the Community Forum,

I'm sorry to hear of the issues you have encountered when trying to get a PAC Code.

It is a fact that o2 Customer services on 202 is awash with people upgrading to the new iphones and Live Chat are trying to pick up the overspill.

I assume up to this experience o2 has given you stable Network Service, and I hope you get on with your new network.
