I've been charged already but don't even have a SIM card yet - and other woes

I moved to Lebara from grossly overpriced Vodafone but discovered I can't have a Lebara  e-sim in the  UK, so I decided to move to O2 as also offering a good, if more expensive, roaming package, as well as an sim which I need. The new SIM card didn't arrive, although I've been charged my first monthly payment.  I was told to go to an O2 shop to get another SIM which I did but what customer services forget to tell me was that I need to take photo ID, even though I have an O2 account, and even though this is not a legal requirement in UK. They don't accept photo bus passes as ID in the shops, even though they are legal documents. . So still not fixed and I have to go back to shop with my passport to get a SIM card, when I have time which is not likely to be til next weekend. Then I have to port my number.. so it'll be 3.5 weeks before I get to use the service I've paid for and I'm still paying Lebara as well. I'm less than pleased and I just hope O2 credit me with the unused service. So thus far greedy and incompetent. Not a good start.

Your O2 contract is paid monthly in advance, with payment expected by day 14 of the bill - pretty similar to other UK telcos, @ChrisGor - if you want to make a case for a refund, you will need to contact CS, easiest way is via Social Media, the three O2 SM channels are in the link below this post. Response may not be immediate, but DMs or PMs to the team do get results where refunds are concerned:
