does anyone know why my phone is suddenly receiving hundreds of quite irate voicemails? No numbers are left. I've made no calls expect to O2 to try and understand why? Thoughts?

Dial 1760 (or 176002) to turn off your VM. That will stop it for sure.

Did O2 tell you just to go to the police , or did they also say they would report it to another department?

Without going into detail, are those calls threatening?
