The truth is, Huawei has been making telecommunincations equipment for a long time now. They branched out into more advanced handsets other than cheaper convenient handsets. Maybe their advancement embarassed some other companies into providing better technology over profit.

Like LG did with the G series, Samsung and Apple had to pick up their game a bit. So is this a case of industrial jealousy or perhaps the Chinese are spying on their customers using it for marketing reasons. If other companies did this, such as Microsoft, Apple or Samsung would they be ostracised?
