Honor 7

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi guys, bit of a basic question but im in need of some clarification. I'm wanting to buy the UK version of the honor 7 direct from huawei. Quite simply- will it work on the o2 networkwith 4G?

My understanding is that o2 use the 800mhz frequency band, which does not seem to be supported when looking at the honor 7's specs https://www.vmall.eu/uk/honor-7-grey-281214/, but then equally it says it supports band 20 which is what o2 uses right?

If someone could explain how it works that would be hugely appreciated as im confused as to which phones i can and cant buy. The oneplus 2 for example, does not mention 800mhz but then does work on 4g because it supports band 20. Are mhz and bands diffferent things or what?

Thanks very much in advance

James

Deleted so as not to confuse.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

From your link:
NETWORK:
4G: LTE band 1, 3, 7, 8, 20 / 3G: UMTS band 1/2/8 - 900/1900/2100 MHz / GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
So yes, will work on O2 4g fine.

Hmm, now i'm very confused- the guys over at tesco mobile customer service are saying it wont work because 'it runs off two 4g frequencies which arent compatible with our network'

I should have specificed im on tesco btw but i assumed that wouldnt make a difference as tesco uses o2.

So it will work despite there being no mention of 800? i thought 850 doesnt work?

Cheers

Is it not sold out across Europe?

Edit: Yes, but only 2-3 week wait for new orders.

this link seems to suggest none of the models will work though. the poster above (who seems to know his stuff based on his reputation, says it will work whilst tesco mobile say it wont work. Really need a definitive answer.

Also currently got a oneplus 2 but cant decide whether to keep it or not!

Anyone?

cheers guys

It should work ok so if it's cheap enough go for it. Worst case scenario is to resell it on eBay.

The GSM bit is not in reference to 4G.
The band is the important bit and you need Band 20 for O2 / Tesco / giffgaff 4g, so it will work fine.

Only on 1800Mhz band 3, not on 800Mhz band 20.

3g will work though.
