Does this mean it's doing it or not doing it.
Popped the battery and restarted.

I suppose the one blessing is that at least it hasn’t bricked my phone like the froyo update. Literally went through 4 desire replacements from o2 until that upgraded successfully.
Anyone have any idea what this update is for? And, would o2 replace my handset based on this update failing?
Any help/advice appreciated

Got a update available message it then downloads something and reboots. The attempt to install it fails with a red triangle with an exclamation mark in it.
I have to reboot the phone (volume up + power).
Any ideas what this is supposed to be?
The file is: OTA_Bravo_Froyo_O2_DE_2.29.207.4-2.14.207.3_R_release_224401sbtbh2vu2z28jv22.zip
Returned Status 7 Installation Aborted.
Also whatever this is, it is not Gingerbread or Ice-cream Sandwich so I am not getting that excited!
It is not a free space problem as I deleted some apps and had 34.5Mb Internal Storage and it still failed.

My phone was from O2 direct, however when O2 were messing around releasing Android 2.2 I went and got the RUU from O2 Germany and installed it myself. Though I see the O2 screens when I turn it on I wonder if the update (from UK O2) thinks that my phone is not a UK O2 phone any more? Is there anyway I can check this from the Software Versions page for example?
I am sure I have had at least one update in the past though since adding 2.2 myself...

Update downloads, phone resets and it then gets to about 25% and fails with the above error code (Status 7).
This really does take the michael a bit as there has been now comment or acknowledgement from O2 AT ALL...
Any help would be appreciated.

Has anyone discussed this with o2? Might try calling them tomorrow to see if the acknowledge the problem.
Will keep you posted of their response.

This is only the 2nd OTA update I've had, the first bricked my phone and had to send it back - hopefully this isn't a repeat of that 😐
