Google and Pixel Camera Flare

According to this article the new Pixel phones are having problems with 'camera flare' on their pictures.

Some people are reporting a halo effect.

Google is developing a software fix to address excessive lens flare on photographs taken with its flagship Pixel smartphones.

Ain't no software gonna fix a lens halo like that.
An easier fix is to use spare hand to cast shadow over the lens preventing any halo at all

A bit poor though @viridis? This phone was touted as having the best mobile phone camera ever...?

And I'm sure they paid a fair sum to have certain devices not tested.....
