Watch out for the following telephone numbers, do not answer them, they are fraudulent...

0144 809 0202 and 0344 809 0202

They also send text messages from O2, by what I am told is "spoofing the number" so it really looks like the text messages are from O2. Do NOT give out your personal details and hang up.

Report the telephone numbers by texting 7726 and texting the word "SPAM" and then it will ask you to report the telephone number that has contacted you, so that O2 can investigate. Although, it looks like this has been an issue with these exact telephone numbers for a long time and it still continues to be a problem, so I am not sure this will ever be stopped. I can see other customers have reported this in the past on here, with the same phone numbers.

Yes, sadly very common.

Other ways to report here including Action Fraud website
https://www.o2.co.uk/help/safety-and-security/phishing-and-smishing-advice

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
