Fake SMS from a relative

Good morning all,

I have received a text messages from a relative which contains text which they did not include, we confirmed this when we met later by comparing the texts.

For example, a text about recent holidays would include partial details about a welding course.

My relative sent the original text and it appears as their number on my phone therefore I am reluctant to block the number.

I would appreciate some help,

Regards Steve

This is going to be a difficult one, as i would recommend usually reporting it as spam.

In this instance i would just delete the message and see if any more come through, as it could be the relatives handset playing up.

@SteveABex

One of you is using a message app which includes something called airpush ads or there is another app on either phone with such ads.

MalwareBytes app will identify the culprit.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
