Facebook recently updated (a couple of days ago for me)

Just warning people to check mobile phone settings for FB

A number of people I know who had the same update have found FB has reverted settings back to 'Video Autoplay over Wifi and Mobile Network' Even if (like me) they had it previously turned off

This could be one of the reasons your data is being gobbled up....:smileysad:

Good tip & yes I found that also & turned it off as I don't like auto play on & another tip. Auto playing videos drains your battery

I notice how they say "we'll turn off autoplay if your battery is low" but no consideration for anyone's data allowance.
Typical of vile company imho.....

Mine updated but autoplay is still off but the app is going to be removed simply because of the constant updates and memory/storage usage.

Binned it months ago - takes up too much space, and the amount of info they gather is just ridiculous.
Only use the mobile page now and occasionally use the "request desktop version" option to see messages.

I use it a fair amount when on PC.

I dont mean for silly chit chat telling everyone the story of my life on a daily basis...I find it useful for specific purposes. I learnt about the floods on the Costa del Sol via FB... As I travel tomorrow this was good to get a heads up. Following F1, FB is usually one of the first places to post breaking news. However, as I said, I rarely use it on mobile..

By far THE single most sensible thing anyone can do.

Restore wasted lost space and get back half your battery life.
