Today I spent half the day in Dunster in Somerset. Absolutely no signal at all. When I get home I looked at the coverage checker and it reads " good indoor and outdoor" 2g coverage.
This is now happening more and more often. So what is the problem? Why are o2 not sorting out the basics?
Across the social network I see thousands of posts criticising o2 but rarely see anything re Vodafone, Three or EE. Clearly this is an o2 issue.
Thoughts on a postage strap please

You're welcome and yes,
it's always best to check different network sim cards in your area to be sure you get good signal.
Is your software up to date?
And if your phones are still under warranty, let o2 have a look for you.

Hi bandofbrothers
Thank you for your input. What is "one avenue" please?
Download the mynetwork app and use it to report the mast status.

we got the phones and contracts through CPW so are sim free already but I wouldn't want the hassle of swapping sims every so often. Would be easier to buy a cheap payg.
To be honest I wish I hadn't moved to o2. They are certainly not a patch on the o2 of old. Have definitely gone downhill drastically.
Sorry to say that but it is true

Have had the phones since June this year. Both S4.
Yes software is up to date. O2 haven't said about changing sims. Would it make a difference?
Thank you for your guidance

I have the network app and in relation to my home signal I report it 2 or 3 times a week but I never get a response. .....

If both of your S4's are having the same issue, don't think it has anything to do with your sim cards.. either the coverage is bad where you are or both phones developed some kind a fault, so best to check different network sims for coverage

Thanks for your message. In terms of my home area MI5 has confirmed that signal across North Devon is poor (even if the location is beautiful lol) so realistically my choices are stick with what I have and it's limitations or move to Vodafone (awful customer service and regular outages).
My choices don't look great.

Hi,
sorry to hear that 😞
I used to live in Cornwall and visited Devon few times so I know how beautiful it is
Please remind me, are you on Pay as you go or on contract?
If Vodafone offers better signal, might be worth going with them and hope you won't have any issues so you won't have to use customer service
