Do O2 respect privacy settings?

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have been an O2 customer for 10 years using the same email address (only used for O2!) in the last week I have started to receive spam from several companies e.g. "improve your CV" company and a "claims" company both saying

"Your information has been passed to us by one of our partners because they thought you might be able to benefit from our service"

They also use an incorrect spelling of my name that is only used by O2 broadband emails.
Therefore I have high confidence that O2 broadband has given my email and name out to a third party against my preferences.
Anyone else found this happening?

I think a lot of time it's just a computer sending emails to random addresses and seeing if they ever bounce back.

I set up an email address to purely send things to myself, never used it for anything buy to receive my own email and I get spammed on that as well.

Yes I'd agree with that! But this is personally addressed with my first name spelled incorrectly as only O2 broadband do.

So I think that proves it's O2 that's being giving away my data.

I'm sure they do, along with the majority of large companies these days.....
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
