Thanks for letting everyone know about this Adam.

The storms are getting heavy up there. Hopefully not for long though. Is anyone based up in Scotland? I think Papdug may be.

Winds are quite strong in West Yorkshire, but not likely to cause damage at this level.

The East coast seems to be very badly hit by the wind and there are many flood warnings out.

Yes, I'm up in the West of Scotland.

The wind has eased off a little, definitely not as strong as it was before 9am this morning. However there is alot of debris on the roads and trees down...I passed three trees this morning on separate trunk roads that were each blocking a lane of the road.

The alert here has been reduced to Amber, and Police Scotland have lowered the warning for the roads from stage 4 to stage 3.

A further statement by the police and Great Yarmouth council has said they're expecting to evacute about 9000 homes in the area, due to an expected tidal surge at any of the high tides over the next 72 hours.

They are saying this could be worse than 1953, when huge areas all down the East coast and Canvey Island in Essex were flooded to very high levels.

I have not had a data connection at all here in Hull since yesterday morning, it states  "Sorry a phone mast in this area isn't working" - I can see this being the case for weeks on end.

Away from home in Glasgow just now; can't access my router via usual means. Hopefully it's just crashed. Anyone got any problems on the Southside (BT line)?
