Disgusted with 02 and just wish I had left when I had the chance. The latest? The iPhone 5 debacle

I have rarely been happy with 02 although I have attempted to keep going with them for over three years.  They failed to get my tariff right and overcharged me for months on end. Then they couldn't get my data allownace right, despite numerous calls and I had my connection slowed down constantly.  Then recently they added an admin charge on for months, and as I am on business my accountant saw it and flagged it up. Otherwise I might never have known.

Anyhow this year I said 'that's it I've had enough of 02 and definitely going to leave'.  So I call them up just before the iPhone 5 release and say my contract is up and I want to go to Vodafone, where I can have a year contract on an iPhone 5.  Like a fool I am persuaded to stay by the retentions section, who say we will give you more free minutes than Vodafone. But here is the catch, you have to wait to upgrade until the day before the iPhone 5 is released, even though they are selling their pre orders to new customers.  I have to keep calling through and waiting ages to speak to someone (long call waits happen regardless of whether there is an iPhone 5 being released, although naturally it is longer with this launch), and then eventually get through.  Then they allow me to order a phone.  My contract starts and then I wait and wait and wait for the phone to be delivered.  It isn't delivered. I call 02 back up and despite them initially stating that it would be two weeks, they now say it could be up to twelve weeks due to stock issues with Apple.  Fair enough, so I sak if I can get a phone from a store, but no because although there is stock I can't buy one on an existing contract that has already started.  By this time I'm almost two months into this contract and leaving now is pointless as I will end up signing a new one elsewhere starting from now. All 02 do is send me intermittent texts saying my phone will soon be herre, but it isn't.

Here then is my issue with 02.  I accept that there may have been stock problems, but there IS stock in stores and I should be able to go and get one.  They also should be honest with their customers, and if they knew after a short time that there was stock issues they should have contacted me to let me go, not leaving it to me to find out where the phone is.

Without doubt 02 are THE worst network I have ever been on.  What with their outaages, poor customer service, rubbish overcharging and wrong biling, and their long wait times on calls, I wonder is there anything to recommend them.  Next year I am definitely going to leave, and I'm never coming back!!

EE have a fair few complaints already. As for signal coverage isn't that impressive. You'll only get 4g if you live in the centre of a major city. Wish people would stop painting EE to be this amazing new thing. It's misleading to people.

As I always advise use whoever has the best signal in your area.

However I'm not going to disagree with any of the O2 comments.
Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you’re wrong. So Ive been told wink
