Different tariff prices for the same amount of data

how come the airtime price changes depending on the phone? I understand the device charges but surely a 20gb tariff is the same no matter which phone it is???

iphone 13 pro - 20gb tariff is £26

iPhone 12 Pro - 20gb tariff is £24

I agree it's annoying. O2 will say it's because the iPhone 13 is a new model and just released.

Other networks do exactly the same.... not sure its misleading, its how the industry operates....
