DHL / Yodel delivery of O2 handsets - very incompident!

Absolutely useless, how can O2 use them?
I got a text from O2 yesterday morning telling me my handset would be delivered yesterday. The delivery hours are 7:30am - 9:00pm. I took the day off and waited all day from 7am-10pm and nobody showed. The useless online tracker shows 'Consignee Cannot Be Reached' despite me waiting in all day nobody showed.
I phoned up the courier today and they said that the driver could probably not find my address even though I live in the centre of Edinburgh on a main road. I was then told by someone else that his car might of broken down. Mad is not the word. They better show today after me taking another day off work. Anyone else had similar problems with these jokers?

Irritating and frustrating that for some reason they didn't make it to you , but hardly cause to brand them incompetent and jokers.
When the phone is delivered, I'd then put in a complaint and see if you can get an apology.

search dhl on these forums and see the many complaints.
But as these are customer based forums best using all the official complaint procedures to lodge a formal complaint.

And genuinely other factors may have resulted in the driver not being able to deliver like accidents, fatigue and then possibly, the schedule took them away from your location causing it uneconomical to backtrack i.e. it was last on the list. Which is bad planning on the couriers behalf.
Personally, I've had no problems from DHL in both delivery or pickup and I live where everything is in welsh names.

Hello!
I know what you mean about DHL/Yodel. They're also HDNL. Its all the same company.
They certainly do have more than their fair share of complaints, and not just re o2. Try Amazon. They have a whole forum dedicated to customer experiences where people are actually boycotting them if orders are sent via HDNL/DHL/YODEL.
My experience with an item recently ordered from o2 was fine, it arrived on time.
However, with this same delivery co in the past, I have had to go to the drivers house to get my delivery (they use local drivers who often store the goods in their own property overnight) and found my item in the front porch. A very expensive item too. I have also had to get o2 to chase up a driver for an order I placed for a friend in the past. First it was claimed nobody available, then the driver 'forgot' to redeliver the next day. Then the next day he was ill so it went back to the depot the next day. Weird thing is, it arrived in the depot at 8.39am and was back out for delivery at 8.40am lol. Really crazy.
Btw, i am SO not making up the bit about going to the guys house to get my delivery!!!
Sorry if i ranted...in time i have grown to see the humorous side of it all, as well as the futility.
All i can suggest is put a note outside your door saying clearly but politely "re delivery for Mr ---- I am at home waiting for you, thank you, please ring the bell".
Thats what i do now and you know, it worked last time, i got my order grin
Regards,
Chris.

This is all on the courier not really O2.
If this happens to you and there are shipping delivery charges that have been added to your order complain to O2 and get them refunded, O2 will claim it back from the courier as it was them at fault.
I've had this loads of times, normally its because the delivery truck is loaded to bursting and the driver simply does not have time to get round all the drops in the day. and the only option for him is to mark the packages as "carded" i.e. card put through the receipients door., basically they system they use doesnt have an option for "Ran out od time", or "Depot gave me too much stuff to deliver in a day".
Like most of you I've done the take the day off and wiat in all day for delivery only for it to reach the evening and no delivery and I always contact the courier company and make sure my complaint is lodged that I was in ALL day and at no time was the delievery attempted at which point you get to the truth that the courier didn't have time. Its even better when you can track the progress online and see when it comes up as "carded" then you can ring them straight away and say I'm standing looking at my doormat and there is no card on it you lying b*****ds! grin
Once they admit their culpability you normally find that you are the first delivery the next day, and then you can complain to O2 and insist that they refund the shipping costs (if any were paid) as you didn't receive the goods in the timescale you paid for.
I've done this with O2, Expansys, Amazon, Play, and many others and they always refund my shipping if the good aren't delivered in the paid for timescale, then they suimply claim it back fromt he courier company.

Apologies for a bit of a rant but here it goes.
I have been waiting for my upgrade phone for over 7 days now.
Here is a snippet of my attempted delivery log by this waste of time company:
10/7/2011 parcel picked up 9:23am from O2-customer location
11/7/2011 arrived at depot 1:53am Lichfield service centre
11/7/2001 Out for delivery 7:19am
11/7/2011 No One to Receive Card Left 14:27
(Strange as I was in all day & my uncle & mum were here for the week visiting)
11/7/2011 Parcel returned to delivery depot
(Called to redeliver & informed them that there is someone here all week)
12/7/2011 Out for delivery 7:16am
12/7/2011 No One to Receive Card Left 12:35
(Taking the piss now as I was in all day & my uncle & mum are still here visiting)
(Arranged delivery for 15/7/2011)
Informed O2 CS that if it is not delivered on the 15/7/2011 that I will cancel my upgrade & contract. I was assured by O2 CS that it would be delivered.
15/7/2011 Out for delivery 7:05am
15/7/2011 Consignee Cannot Be Reached 16:00
(WTF is this)
So to cut a long story short I still have no upgrade phone. Not to worry though as Orange have supplied me with a new phone & contract the next day.
O2 contract cancelled as soon as the phone is returned by Yodel.
But wait there is more.
I contact Yodel & inform them that the order needs to be returned to O2 as it has now been cancelled. No problem I am told we will send it back.
Not believing a word they tell me I check the website to track the phone back to O2. Nope it’s not going to O2 because it is out for delivery again.
What a bunch of retards.
I am now preparing a formal complaint to Yodels CS team & including Ronan Dunne (O2 Chief Executive) along with BBC watchdog.
The net a rife with complaints about Home Delivery Network Limited (HDNL, DHL Domestic, DHL Express, Parcelpoint, Yodel).
I will even look into setting up a Facebook group so we can all get together to complain & make the public aware of this excuse for company.
I for one will not be using O2 or any other company that uses any of the delivery company’s above. I will also be urging customer to make their voices heard & take their custom elsewhere, so the like of O2, Amazon, Argos & all the other companies that use them.
Someone at O2 thought they were being clever & saving a few £ per item if they go for the cheaper option. All I can say is will the savings you make now cost you more in lost reputation & revenue form lost customers in the future?
Good news travels, but bad news travels faster & further.
(I think O2 are a good company, I have had no problems for the 4 short years I have been with them. I just hope that they get rid of this cowboy outfit so I can come back to them sometime in the future.)

Yodel were supposed to deliver my phone a week ago. Friday I went to the depot to get it myself as I was told by their customer service rep it had been returned there after the couldn't locate my address. When I arrived they had no idea where my phone was, nor did they seem to care. Today they still don't know where my brand new iPhone 4s is and O2 don't seem to be doing anything about it. I suspect someone and yodel has thought it would make a nice Christmas present for themselves. I can't believe O2 are sending out parcels with a value as high as the cost of some of their phones with these idiots. Surely the cost to O2 in lost and stolen phones via yodel will be reflected in the cost of our contracts!? Seems like the only ones that lose out here are the customer as ever. Perhaps i'l switch to vodafone...!

TBH I wont be using Yodel ever again either.
Ordered a lot of goods for christmas via Amazon and according to them it was delivered to me and signed for on 14th Dec at 20:20. Which is a load of rubbish coz I never signed for squat and neither has my neighbours.
Not the first time things have went "missing" when Yodel are involved...
