Could someone install monitoring software on my cell phone?

Recently, some weird things are troubling me. I wonder whether it is possible for someone who has access to my cell phone to install mobile spy software on the mobile phone to track my phone activity, so that he knows when and what I do. I suspect that my BF installed some mobile spy software on my phone, for he seems to know one of my male friend's name, which I've never mentioned to him before. Besides, several times, he spilled the beans and he even knew most of my activities that he should not know. He is familar with some mobile phone software as I know.
Can anyone give me some advice and tell me what I should do?

Depends on what phone you have then it is possible to install monitoring software. If that is the case then it is illegal as its done without consent. Though most times, its a simple case of someone just looking at the phone when you leave the phone unattended. Ditto if its sync'ed to computer.
To be sure of removal, backup your contacts and any photos etc then do a hard reset of the phone.

Do you have Wavesecure installed? That can remotely sync texts, contacts, and GPS coordinates via their website.

Nah, cell phone is gaining momentum in this country instead of mobile. I blame US tv. Its when people start calling any phone an iphone is when we really should start to re-educate people.

Going by the number of times this exact same question has been posted on various forums over the years. I would say its either a remarkable coincidence or a spammer.

And for your problem, you're better off consulting the service provider, the Police or CAB rather than posting on a public forum.
And lastly, this forum is plagued by spammers who infiltrate it quite cunningly.
If you're not USA-based and/or a spammer then I apologise to you unreservedly.
