Could not access voicemail in the UAE

I had problems accessing voicemail in the UAE.    901 is the number of the local police therefore you cannot use that number. On arrival you receive an 02 Roaming text telling you that you can get a "retrieval" number to access voicemail  by calling +447802090100.  However, that number did not work and I tried it several times.

I missed a couple of important calls when I was there including the one arranging return travel back to the airport.  I did not know I would not be able to access voicemail for the 2 weeks I was there.

I have just tried calling Customer Services but there is just a voicemail and then the call is ended and no way to get through.

I am thinking of changing provider because of 1).  the voicemail issue and 2) the lack of available help/support to resolve it.

  • Thanks but it is poor customer service that there is no telephone help option available at all and they just end the call.     I don’t use social media.  I am concerned that if I have a more serious issue than this to resolve it is clear from this experience that the customer support is not there.

@Charlie121

If you need to contact O2.
All numbers are in this guide Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support
When you call, you will be asked for the reason you are calling.
Stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.
Press 2 for Everything Else
Press 5 for More Options
Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to someone.
You can also try saying "Upgrade" or "Fraud" to be connected to an advisor.
8.00am is the best time to call if you can.
