Today I tried to add a Samsung galaxy book Go to my account and I for the  life of me I can't     understand why they (O2) want £175 deposit from me. When in April this year they  (O2) let me have a Samsung galaxy note ultra that cost over a £1000 with no up front payment  and  no deposit Why ? Soooo disappointed with O2

This is o2's business policy, and they obviously see you having 2 devices on contract as a risk.  Unfortunately then can and do choose who they give contracts to, and even existing customers can be asked for deposits etc. It isn't a right or guarantee to be able to add for no extra cost a new line.
