Clone SIM

I have a contract SIM which I'd like to use with two phones (never at the same time - when one phone is on, the other will be off). Is there any way I can clone the SIM I have to work in a different phone without having to swap the SIM and take the battery out all of the time?

Okay then, no UK carrier offers this! So it might get quite expensive with an overseas sim.
