Charged for UK texts

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have recently been charged for UK texts fhat should have been included in my monthly allowance, O2 inform me that it is due to the international prefix 0044 or +44 being included in the number. As my stored numbers include the international prefix it is automatically included when dialing from memory. Anyone else had a similar problem.

Complete rubbish.
You would only be charged if they were premium text numbers or numbers based in the Channel Islands.

And, of course, if you were abroad yourself wink

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Sorry but that appears to be false information you have been given by O2. (I take it you are in the UK at present)

All my numbers have the 44 prefix in front of them and I have never been charged...

Sounds like a bit of a con! Surely O2's servers will know that your're in the uk and that the number you are sending to must be UK based to because of the prefix?

I'm not sure they've given you the right explanation.

I know they haven't Phil as I would have a phenomenal bill every month if that were the case....(I mean when I am in UK of course) wink

Is it possible that the OP's texts are longer than 160 characters and are converting to MMS, or that the OP is using emoticons? The +44 excuse is rubbish.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

It's clearly an error then so get back onto CS (call 202) and dispute it.

It will probably be the case that if you talk to a different CS this time....they will say something completely different. Please let us know the outcome...:smileywink:
