can i just pay off the phone contract with money for selling it and get a new contract for new phone and transfer my existing tarrif contract over to new one?

You would probably need a new sim as well, unless you find a phone that also uses the same size sim as the Iphone5, of which there aren't any at the moment, I don't think. A different sized sim won't cost you anything.

You would just transfer your contract to a sim that fits your choice of phone. The point I was making though was NOT to sell your sim with the phone wink

No you would need to get a micro sim or use an adaptor but some have bad reports with adaptors so best to get the sim

Problem solved I think ha ha, if I unlock and sell phone, (without sim obviously) use the money to pay off phone part of contract I can then get a new phone with new contract and transfer my airtime contract over to new one, as on O2 refresh so as long as phone is paid for I am out of the contract ; ) thankyou for all of your help ; )
