As some of you know, I had to send my telephone away for repair. Well it came back today however it was not repaired for no specified reason. After a few telephone calls I found out that the reason for it not being processed was "it is rooted".
It's the same telephone from day one of ownership other than other LG software updates. I asked to see this evidence however to no avail I was refused this because of Data Protection. I'm really angry because it's only half paid, the USB port doesn't function correctly (as originally stated) and the fact I've been left with a £210 effective brick.
Basically I feel like paying what I'm due, getting the telephone port fixed by LG and cancelling my O2 contract. It's made me that angry.

So essentially, they are told what the problem is from a list of options. So categorised like a grading of fault level.
The fact my telephone came up as "rooted" is more or less, the call centre approach to solving solutions and not helping beyond that stage. I know it has never been tampered with software wise and more than likely that I have a LG European Factory Firmware and isn't recognised by their system.
I will be in contact with LG to confirm everything is OK and where I stand from a legal point of view. It is very well possible I have been sold a reconditioned or returned handset, the price was too good to be true really. Once LG verifies my handset details are correct I'm not sure what to do.
One thing is for sure, I will never go with a SIM/Device contract with O2 again.

Certainly operated like that at Unipart @anticpated . My son worked there for 16 months in various areas of the repair section.
He felt there was limited skill required to 'repair' a phone. His job title of mobile phone technician was a misnomer as far as he was concerned.
Once he had done what was on the job note.....the phone was sent to inspection and then returned to the owner.
I stress that this was his opinion of his time working at for a 3rd party repair company who were contracted out by Vodaphone.

Who knows? I will gather any information I need tomorrow and see what happens.
