Hi

Has anyone else's bill literally just doubled?

I rang up O2 to enquire why my bill had jumped from £25.69 to £51.86 and was told I was on a Standard Contract. I never knew there were different types of contracts and definitely wasn't told about it otherwise I'd have stayed with Virgin

There are two types of phone contract. One called Freestyle where the phone cost and airtime are separate and a Standsrd contract where they are combined

That said, if you were on a standard tariff the price rise would be 17.3% not what you are paying

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Where did you originally take the contract @DAVE6640 ?

Standard contract normally means through a 3rd party, like Mobilephonesdirect, while refresh normally means direct through o2.

It might be that you had a discount on your account that ran for the minimum length and has now run out.

Can you see if you can upgrade with no cost as you might be able to move to a sim only deal (assuming you want to stay with o2)?

Other things - could be you have accidentally subscribed to a premium rate service, or brought things through charge to mobile.

Your bill should still show you what the charges are for though.

To get to the bill details follow this guide:

Guide: How do I get to the 'Download Bill' page?

For premium texts:

Ultimately if there is something you need to sort then you need to speak to customer services, either by calling 202 or messaging on social media:

Facebook ( https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter ( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram ( https://o2uk.co/O2CIG)

If those don't work then we can as a last resort ask one of the community advisors to take a look - so if you get nothing from the above then let us know and we can call them in.

Please note, this is not customer services and we cannot access your account. Do not publish personal details (email, phone number, bank account).

Hi

I took a 24mth contract out on 14/11/21 through Mobile Phones Direct. I've still got the emails because I paid £49.99 upfront.
