Banning nuisance calls

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi, I do hope someone can help. I'm a woman plagued by a guy who keeps calling me up to 50 times a day (yes I called the police) but I can't change my number as it is also used for some business. Is there any way his number can be blocked so he isn't bothering me all the time? Please help!

I really sympathise with your problem, the guy is a nuisance and breaking the law. Unfortunately only certain handsets have the functionality of blocking selected numbers.

Call O2 to see if they can help as the police are involved. Also speak to the police again or maybe a solicitors letter could do the trick.

O2 don't provide blocking services. Their thinking for this is that its a complete waste of time, it doesn't solve the problem which is that the person has your number.

If they did block his number, theres nothing stopping him from getting another PAYG phone and calling again.

The problem is that the person has your number. Take that out of the equation and problem solved.

Yes its a hassle to lose your number, but not the end of the world.

The Police will give the same advice.

Anyone you do business with via your mobile would certainly understand if you changed your number. O2 will do this once for free. Getting a new number and having to notify a few people certainly must be worth the trade off to stop the number of calls you're getting every day.
